In April,
1998, I journeyed with my friend John Gleason to Coonabarabran, New South
Wales, Australia. We arrived just in time for the end of the El Nino
drought. Out of the 10 days of shooting we had planned we had two
very damp and cold evenings to take images. During those two nights
we saw some of the most spectacular skies either of us had ever seen, as
our photos will attest. Another trip was taken in March-April of
2000. The weather was against us again and we came back with a few
images. Mine were all done with a CCD camera through a Hydrogen-alpha
filter. Thanks to our hosts, Steve
Lee and his family, we had a wonderful visit in spite of the weather.
