This CCD image was taken with an SBIG ST8E camera and a 50mm Nikkor camera lens at f/4 using the Mandel Wide Field Imaging Adapter. It is the combination of 15, 10-minute exposures with an H-a filter. Image acquisition and processing were done with Maxim and Photoshop.
Barnard's Loop is thought to be a supernova remnant. This is the most extensive image I have ever seen of this area and shows the huge size of the Orion nebulosity as well as the Loop.
